Copying and Printing

Need to make copies? 
All library locations have copy machines for public use; the charge is $.20 per page. Printing from public PCs is available for $.20 per page. Color copying is not available, but color printing is available at the Central Library (South Lake Charles) for $.50 per page.

Computers

Do you need to type a resume' or find something on the Internet? Visit any library location to use a public PC. All you need is a library card & pin #.

Use a computer for a 1 hour session, with a daily limit of 2 sessions. The PCs include internet access, Microsoft Office 2007, and plug-ins for Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash and Java that are updated quarterly. Users must agree to the use policy.

 

 

Early Literacy Stations

Did you know that the Library has computers with pre-loaded educational software?
These computers are for children ages 2-8. The educational titles pre-loaded by AWE span seven curricular areas. Kids are having fun and they don’t even know they are learning. Visit a branch today and start learning and having fun!

 

 

Innovation Studio

The CPPL Innovation Studio provides a space for everyone in Calcasieu Parish to learn about emerging technologies and bring their creations to life. Graphic arts design, film editing, 3D design, app creation and coding are just a sample of what this space holds for you! The studio is located inside Central Library on 301 West Claude Street in Lake Charles.

 

 

 

Laptop Checkout Program

Don't have a laptop? Did you know that you can checkout a laptop at the Library? Available to library card holders. The laptops, housed at the Central (721-7116) and Sulphur Regional Libraries (721-7141), are provided to Calcasieu Parish by the State Library of Louisiana as part of the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program of the Department of Commerce.

Included/installed software/programs are Microsoft Office 2007, Adobe Acrobat Reader, QuickTime Viewer, Shockwave, a Video Launcher, Flash Media Player and a CD Burner. They are internet ready so citizens can take them to any hot spot to access the internet. Here's more details,

 

 

 

Get your Library Card

Need a Library card? It's FREE to anyone who lives, works, owns property, or attends school in Calcasieu Parish. Apply for a library card at your local library branch or you may apply online if 18+ years. Get more details..... 

 

 

Libraries Southwest

Are you a resident of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Evangeline, Jeff Davis, South St. Landry Community Library or Vernon parish? Would you like to borrow books from one of the parishes listed below because it is not available in your library system? Libraries Southwest (LSW) is a service that links the parish libraries of Southwest Louisiana together in order to provide better service to patrons. An LSW library card enables patrons to utilize library services and check out materials from any of these six parishes: Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Evangeline, Jeff Davis, South St. Landry Community Library and Vernon parish. For more information on how to make use of this service, click here.

Library To-Go

Library To-Go is the library’s outreach service. We offer FREE delivery of library materials to homebound persons and we also supply nursing homes, daycares, and other facilities with reading and viewing materials. In addition, we can do informational visits and make presentations about library services for organizations and community events. Apply today!

Meeting Rooms

Do you or your organization/group need to gather together for meetings? The Library has 6 public meeting rooms and 3 conference rooms available for booking. Visit the library's Meeting Room policy and/or view the calendar to request use.

 

Online Sidewalk Book Sale (Better World Books)

WiFi

We have Wi-Fi! All you need is your device/laptop, a Library card and Pin#. Don't have one? Check with library staff about checking out a laptop. All library branches have public Wifi access available for use by library card holders in good standing. Users may login to the WiFi network using their library card and PIN numbers between 8:00 am and 10 pm daily.
