The City of Lake Charles Recreation & Parks Department and the Calcasieu Parish Public Library are teaming up for "Book It to the Park!" Please join us for a morning of fun, games, and treats at Grace Medora Park, located at 2720 Medora Street in Lake Charles! Families can read a StoryWalk as they explore the park and can have fun riding the mini train, eating tasty treats, and visiting the pop-up library. Attendees can earn a prize for completing a scavenger hunt, and kids will have a blast creating their own sidewalk chalk art. Join us to have fun, win prizes, and participate in all kinds of games and activities at this Partners in Parks event!
As of 2016, Maplewood Outreach Center is the headquarters for Outreach Services and Library To-Go, our program for homebound individuals. Anyone unable to visit a library location due to age, illness, or disability can apply for Library To-Go, and a friendly library employee will deliver requested materials directly to them. Our team is dedicated to helping people with disabilities, whether temporary or permanent, and it is our privilege to bring books, movies, and more to patrons all around the parish.
