Friends of the Library, Calcasieu are parish residents who work together to help the Calcasieu Parish Public Library, including all branches and Library To-Go, better serve the community.

  • We strive to enhance and promote the use and enjoyment of the Library, as well as sponsor special programs and activities.
  • We provide supplemental funding for the Library and actively support its policies and procedures.  
  • We are funded by memberships and contributions.
  • We believe that the Library is a vital center of communication that affects the quality and advancement of lifelong learning.

Membership and Benefits
  • Membership is open to anyone wishing to support the Calcasieu Parish Public Library System.
  • Receive Library news and special invitations to the Library and Friends sponsored events.
  • Membership levels include an annual membership and a lifetime membership.

BOOK SALES

Central Library
301 W. Claude Street in Lake Charles
Sundays from 2pm to 4pm and Tuesdays from 10am to 12pm
Westlake Library
937 Mulberry Street
Mondays and Thursdays from 12 pm to 4 pm  


Sales may be canceled due to the availability of volunteers. 

OTHER ACTIVITIES

  • Encourage and contribute gifts, funds, materials and equipment that is not available through the Library's operating budget.
  • Sponsor special events, Summer Reading Programs, technology and furniture, refreshments for programs, cultural and literary programs, and so much more.
  • Act as advocates for the Library, promoting library services in the community.
