Wi-Fi is available both inside and outside our branches. We offer fax and scanning services, along with charging stations. The library offers Wi-Fi in all their locations.
To connect to the network, open your device’s web browser, accept the Internet and PC Use Policy, then select “Continue to the Internet.
This service is available daily from 8 AM to 10 PM at all library locations. Enhanced parking lot signals are offered at Central, Epps Memorial, Moss Bluff, and Sulphur Regional libraries.
To protect our network and prevent spam, SMTP has been disabled on CPPL Wi-Fi. If you're using an email client (software other than a web browser), you won’t be able to send emails while connected. You can still read and receive messages and save drafts to send later. Accessing email through a web browser will continue to work normally.
If you are unable to find CPPL's Wi-Fi access service on your computer, try the classic fix – reboot. Or, ask a staff member.
Disclaimer: While we've worked to make wireless access available throughout all library branches, some areas may have limited reception. If you experience difficulty connecting, try moving to a different location within the building. Please note that CPPL’s wireless internet is filtered. By using this service, you agree to follow the Calcasieu Parish Public Library’s Internet and PC Use Policy (Spanish version coming soon). This policy outlines the limitations of internet access and your responsibilities while using the network.
Keep in mind that the library’s wireless network is not secure. Information sent to and from your device may be intercepted by others using the right software. Library staff are unable to provide technical support, and we cannot guarantee a stable connection. CPPL is not responsible for the safety, security, or data on your device while connected to our network.
Faxing is available at all branches and is limited to outgoing faxes only. Please note that incoming faxes cannot be received through this service.
Scanning is available at the Central Library, Sulphur Regional Library, Moss Bluff Library, and SWLA Genealogical & Historical Library. These coin-operated machines support two-sided document scanning, making it easy to duplicate both sides of a page efficiently.
You must be an adult with a CPPL card in good standing. Temporary users and out-of-parish LSW users are not eligible. A valid Louisiana driver’s license or state ID with your current Calcasieu Parish address is required. Your account balance must be $0.00, and you must read and sign the Device Checkout Agreement Form.
