Info regarding Email via the CPPL Wi-Fi
SMTP has been disabled to protect our infrastructure and prevent spam.
If you're using any software other than a web browser to check email (an email client), you won't be able to send emails via the CPPL Wi-Fi. You can still read and receive emails, and write drafts to send later.
If you're accessing email only through a browser, it should work as usual.
Can't find CPPL's Wi-Fi access service on your computer?
To access the Wi-Fi, you'll need a device with 802.11b or 802.11g networking.
We've worked to make wireless access as available as possible in our branches, but you may encounter some "dead" spots where reception is limited. If you have trouble connecting, try moving to a different location within the branch.
Please note that our wireless internet access is filtered. By using this service, you agree to comply with the Calcasieu Parish Public Library's Internet and PC Use Policy. [Spanish version coming soon.]
This policy outlines the limitations of internet access and your responsibilities while using it.
Keep in mind that the library's wireless network is not secure. Information sent to and from your device may be intercepted by anyone with a wireless device and the right software.
Library staff cannot provide technical support, and we cannot guarantee a wireless connection. The Calcasieu Parish Public Library is not responsible for the safety, security, or data of your equipment while connected to our network.
This service is available at all branches and is limited to outgoing faxes only. Incoming faxes are not accepted.
