Join Camille Vizena Friday December 9th at 3pm for an hour of Book Making! Artists' books are an interdisciplinary form that combines bookmaking and the visual arts to create new ways to tell stories or express ideas through works of art. Participants will learn how to create different types of handmade Artist's books, such as a Simple Accordion or "Pants Book" and a Snake Book. These books will be crafted using only folding techniques utilizing a single piece of paper. After the basic structure is completed, participants are free to craft and create their book's content and design however they desire. Craft materials will be provided, but patrons are welcome to bring their own materials and resources if they desire.
The Sulphur Regional Branch houses a brick sculpture featuring historic figures and moments in Sulphur history that greet you upon entering the lobby. This location offers various-sized meeting rooms, study rooms, and public computers.
